The yearly fundraising effort most nonprofits run to sustain their general operations. Unlike capital campaigns or restricted grants, annual fund gifts are usually unrestricted, meaning the organization can use them where the need is greatest. Donors who give to the annual fund consistently are often the best candidates for major gift conversations.
